3rd Alarm Manchester NH. 65 Log Street 12/21/2014
On Sunday Morning around 03:20hrs. the Manchester NH Fire Dept. responded to 65 Log Street, Bass Island Condo's for a reported building fire. While companies were en route, Fire Alarm reported receiving multiple calls for a building fire.
First due Engine-2 reported fire showing from the "D" side of the structure. Fire was in a large 3 story brick and wood occupied apartment building with fire showing from one unit on the 1st floor. Firefighters quickly went into "rescue mode & attack mode".
Upon arrival of the District Chief in Car-1, he quickly transmitted the 2nd and 3rd Alarms. Firefighters were able to rescue several occupants and animals safely. The fire extended to the 3rd floor and attic area. Multiple hand lines were stretched and due to the fire conditions in the attic area, Firefighters were evacuated and an exterior attack was done.
Firefighters had large amount of material to open up, the 3rd floor had a wood and metal façade which were most of the fire was.
The building contained roughly (40) apartments and 50 people have been displaced from their homes.
One firefighter had a minor injury and was treated by EMS.
The fire remains under investigation by the Manchester NH. Fire Dept.
