W/F Whitman Ma. 81 School Street 03/21/2019

On Thursday March 21, 2019 at 13:40hrs. Whitman Ma. Fire Dept. responded to 81 School Street for a reported fire in a structure. Engine-243, Ladder-246 and Car-3 responded. Upon Car-3's arrival, he reported fire and smoke showing and requested a Working Fire assignment bringing Hanson Engine and East Bridgewater Engine to the scene. Engine-243's crew stretched and inch and 3/4 hand line and made entry and found a kitchen fire. Fire was in a large 2.5 story wood frame occupied structure containing multiple apartments (4). Firefighters quickly knocked down the kitchen fire and checked for extension, which none was found. All occupants of the structure safely evacuated with out any injuries. Whitman Engine-242 also responded with an off duty crew to assist at the scene while an Abington Engine covered the Whitman Station.
