The Fire Chief reported firefighter's gear, medical supplies were damaged and destroyed in the fire. The fire station received heavy smoke and water damage. Two Mansfield Firefighters were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
It appeared to be an engine compartment fire on Engine-2, which is a 2009 Seagrave engine. Firefighters removed the engine's equipment and hose and had to empty the water tank before the truck was towed away.
It was a very busy shift for MFD that day, snow storm during the day and a rain storm at night.
