ACW Brockton Ma. 123 Alger Street 11/18/2018
On Sunday Morning around 08:10hrs. Brockton Ma Fire Dept received a central station alarm for 123 Alger Street with a second call from the house occupants saying the house was on fire.
Engine-4 was first due and reported smoke showing from the rear. Car-56 arrived a few minutes later and reported a split level ranch (2 story wood frame) with moderate fire on the 2nd floor. Firefighter's stretched (2) hand lines and quickly knocked down the fire while Ladder-4 vented the roof. Car-56 requested an extra ladder to the scene for manpower (Ladder-1). American Red Cross was requested for the house occupants.
Brockton Fire Prevention reported the cause of the fire to be an unattended candle.
