Animal Rescue-Merrimack River-Manchester NH. 04/15/2017
On Saturday Morning just before 10:00hrs. the Manchester NH. Fire Dept. Truck-1, Rescue-1 & Car-1 were dispatched to the rear of 250 Commercial Street for a reported animal rescue. First due Car-1, District Chief Poulin reported a dog and it's owner on the river bank. The dog fell in the water at Arms Park and floated down the Merrimack River a few hundred feet and was able to get onto a small area of dry land on the river bank.
Firefighters from Truck-1 placed a ground ladder over the concrete wall while Rescue-1's crew went down to retrieve the dog and the owner. Both the dog and it's owner were assisted up the ladder with out any injuries.
