3rd Alarm Bedford NH. 288 South River Road 01/29/2013
On Tuesday Evening around 17:10hrs. Bedford NH Fire Dept. started to receive calls for a building fire at 288 South River Rd at Cedarwood Dr. Callers reporting fire showing from the windows and roof.
While en route Bedford C-2 transmitted the W/F and upon his arrival struck a 2nd Alarm. The OIC reported heavy fire in a large 2 story brick and wood commercial irregular shaped 100x40. He also reported the fire building to be 50 percent involved. A special call for (2) truck companies over the 2nd alarm were requested by the OIC also. Shortly after, the 3rd Alarm was struck.
Firefighters tried for an interior attack and were forced out due to the heavy fire conidtions and set up for master streams. Firefighters conducted trench cuts in the cove area and prevented the fire from involving the rest of the building. Took firefighters over an hour to bring the fire under control.
