2nd Alarm Manchester NH 307 Hanover Street 02/04/2013

On Monday Night, February 4, 2013, at 21:50hrs. the Manchester NH Fire Dept. responded to 307 Hanover Street for a reported building fire.
Car-2 was first due with Headquarter companies and reported heavy fire showing and reported a W/F. The District Chief reported heavy fire on floor 1 of a 2 story wood-frame 50x100 vacant structure. The District Chief then struck the 2nd Alarm.
Firefighters advanced numerous hand lines while truck companies opened up the roof. Fire extended to the walls on the 2nd floor where firefighters opened up and overhauled. Firefighters stretched a total of (3) handlines. Firefighters also found frozen fire hydrants in the area due to the extreme cold.
Outside temperatures during the fire was 19 degrees with a wind chill of 8 degrees.
The fire was under control in just under 40 minutes.
