3rd Alarm Manchester NH 750 Massabesic Street 09/16/2012
On Sunday Night at 21:53hrs, Manchester, NH. Fire Dept. responded to area of 750 Massabesic Street for a reported commercial structure on fire. Engine-10 and Car-1 were 1st due and reported heavy smoke showing. Soon after, companies reporting heavy fire in the rear and the District Chief struck the 2nd alarm.
Quickly the heavy fire conditions took over and an exterior attack was ordered. Trucks 1 & 7 put thier ladder pipes into operation with several 2.5's being pu to work.
Car-1 reported heavy fire conditions in a large 2 strory brick and wood vacant commercial strucuture 50 by 100. Heavy fire conditions continued and the 3rd alarm was transmitted. Companies were also having water problems. During the fire, power lines also come down near Engine-10's truck.
The Chief of the Dept. ordered a 30 foot collapse zone set up after a minor collapse on the "A" side due to the heavy fire conditions.
Trucks 1,6 & 7 and numerous 2.5 lines battled the fire and around 23:30hrs, the OIC reported the fire under control.
