3rd Alarm Malden Ma. Box 481 58 Porter Street 04/10/11

On Sunday, Malden Ma. Fire Dept. struck Box 481 for 58 Porter Street. First due company reported heavy fire and smoke showing. The fire was in a large 2.5 story wood-frame occupied structure located on a large hill in the city. Firefighters went with an interior attack with large lines but were forced out by heavy fire conditions on the 3rd floor and roof area. The 3rd alarm was transmitted and firefighters went an exterior attack with ladder pipes and multi large hand lines. It took firefighters several hours to bring the fire under control. One firefighter was transported by ambulance to a local Hospital with a minor injury.
