4th Alarm Medford Ma. 112/114 Washington Street 07/07/10

On Wednesday Night around 20:00hrs. Medford Ma. Fire Dept. responded to 112/114 Washington Street for a reported structure fire. 1st due units reported heavy fire showing and transmitted the 2nd alarm. On arrival of the Deputy Chief, he transmitted the 3rd alarm and reported a 2.5 story brick/wood frame structure well involved and companies went to an exterior attack. Firefighters set up numerous master streams on all sides trying to protect the exposure on the b side. Around 20:40hrs or so, the Chief of the Dept. requested the 4th alarm be struck due to fire thru the roof with a partial collapse on the c/d corner. During most of the fire, a moderate smoke condition banked on the fire ground. It took firefighters several hours to bring the fire under control. There was no reported injuries but Boston Sparks Association and Armstrong EMS provided rehab to the scene.
Fire remains under investigation.
